Staff Biography

Amber Carlson, MS, CES 
Quality Improvement Coach

Amber has worked in the area various areas of health promotion for the past 5 years.  She has earned  B.S. degrees from Fort Hays State University and Western State College.  Upon the completion of her M.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island, Amber relocated to Colorado and worked at the University of Colorado Denver-Anschutz Campus doing metabolic research.  Her pursuit of additional schooling took her to Gunnison where she has spent the last 2 years working as a Health Educator for the SBIRT Colorado Federal Grant.  While on the Western Slope, she also contracted with HealthTeamWorks and facilitated Rapid Improvement Activities to assist clinics wanting to incorporate the Pediatric Obesity or the Alcohol and Substance Abuse (SBIRT) guideline into their standard of care.  She has returned to Denver to complete her M.S.W. at the University of Denver, and recently joined HealthTeamWorks full-time as a Quality Improvement Coach.
