Staff Biography

Thea Carruth, MPH

Senior Project Manager, Guidelines

Thea has an enduring interest in health promotion. Her involvement with healthcare and nonprofit organizations spans many years and settings, including The Children’s Hospital (Denver); the University of Colorado; the American Cancer Society and the Fulton County (Atlanta) and Chatham County (Savannah, Ga.) Health Departments.  She has experience in hospital-based, outpatient clinic management and facilities planning, fundraising, grant writing and new program development. While working with Colorado's statewide immunization registry, Thea visited public and private practices around the state, learning the challenges and barriers faced by healthcare providers. She received a bachelor's degree in general studies from the University of Michigan and master's degree in public health from Emory University. Thea and her husband Gordon enjoy many aspects of life in Colorado: gardening, hiking, biking and traveling the state.
