The Board of Directors of HealthTeamWorks is pleased to announce two important leadership changes. Effective immediately, Kristi Bohling-DaMetz has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Cecilia Saffold has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO).  Both Kristi and Cecilia bring inspiring leadership, business continuity, and nationally recognized industry expertise to the non-profit organization.

HealthTeamWorks is further strengthened with these leadership changes and remains well positioned to effect change at this pivotal juncture in U.S. healthcare. We are grateful to our customers and teaming partners working tirelessly in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are aligned in our combined efforts to flatten the curve and plan support for near- and long-term impacts across communities.

These appointments are designed to advance performance improvement and healthcare transformation nationwide. With an ever-expanding focus on wider determinants of health, HealthTeamWorks provides best in class solution-based services in practice transformation, process and performance improvement, strategic alignment, workforce and leadership development, and community health.  We consider these ingredients essential to success in the delivery of value-based health care and population-based (advanced) alternative payment models (APM).

Bert Miuccio, former CEO of HealthTeamWorks, is transitioning to new adventures.  His past leadership and the collaborative culture he fostered has allowed HealthTeamWorks to assume a larger role in the national pursuit of improved healthcare for Americans and is greatly appreciated by the Board.

Dr. David Ehrenberger, former Chief Medical Officer, will also be stepping down to pursue other interests.  We especially appreciate David’s contribution to HealthTeamWorks that helped guide building our vision toward advanced primary care and physician practice transformation.  David’s passion, wisdom and leadership will be missed.

Kristi Bohling-DaMetz, RN, BSN, MBA, previous Chief Strategy Officer at HealthTeamWorks, specializes in health care delivery transformation with more than 25 years of healthcare delivery, adult learning, workforce development, population health and performance improvement experience. She began her professional career as a registered nurse in hospital and ambulatory settings before transitioning to continuing education, specializing in community and civic engagement as well as business and industry training.

Previously, Kristi was Program Director at TransforMED, a subsidiary of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) for CMS/CMMI’s Patient-Centered Medical Neighborhood Health Care Innovation Award, leading an interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes across 15 hospital health systems and communities.

Kristi also served as Lead Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton providing subject matter expertise on the Transforming Clinical Practices Initiative (TCPi) data hub and the Accountable Health Communities (AHC) social determinants of health screening tool.

Kristi is passionate about innovative problem solving, creativity, leadership development, whole-person care, and enhancing the healthcare experience for all stakeholders. On a day to day basis, she works to improve strategic focus, inform future planning, and optimize measurable impacts.

Cecilia Saffold, MBA, PMP, previously Director of Organizational Excellence at HealthTeamWorks, has served at the highest levels of leadership within organizations enhancing community health for twenty years. At HealthTeamWorks, she cultivates an internal culture of continuous improvement and high stewardship of product and service standards. This is achieved through her formation and direction of a Project Management Office (PMO), shared accountability for financial performance, and leadership of company performance evaluation activities.

Cecilia planned and executed strategy while leading national practice transformation teams at TransforMED and Clear Sky One, LLC where she impacted over two hundred primary care and specialty practices in engagements.

Ms. Saffold’s commitment to public health and patient safety has bridged her professional calling to include extensive civic participation. Most recently, Cecilia has collaborated with the other founding members of Uzazi Village’s Community Expert Review Board (CERB) to revolutionize Black maternal infant health outcomes by amplifying the Black birth experience, fostering equitable research and ensuring culturally congruent care.

Demonstrating a clear pathway to value for individuals and populations, the team at HealthTeamWorks has provided technical assistance and resulting impact in national initiatives such as CMS’ Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+), State Innovation Models (SIM), Transforming Clinical Practices (TCPi), AHRQ’s EvidenceNOW Southwest (ENSW), and projects with health systems, practices, residencies, professional organizations, and insurers.

HealthTeamWorks remains at the forefront of this transformative work and as a learning organization will ever evolve to foster thriving communities of health.
