HealthTeamWorks is pleased to announce and welcome David Ehrenberger, MD., as Chief Medical Officer, a new role at the organization. As a member of the executive team, Dr. Ehrenberger will share responsibility for the continued expansion of the company’s current core services, including Practice Network Transformation solutions, Training programs, and a membership Solutions Center. He will also be on the frontlines of providing consulting services to clients.

“As we leverage the company’s reputation for providing practice and network transformation solutions, Dr. Ehrenberger represents an investment in developing solutions to address the challenges that practices and systems face in healthcare today,” said Bert Miuccio, CEO of HealthTeamWorks. “The timing for hiring David comes at a time that we continue to improve and expand HealthTeamWorks’ transformative services and data, training and collaborative learning support for medical practices, behavioral health centers and all forms of clinically integrated delivery networks in Colorado and nationwide.”

Ehrenberger is a well-known figure in the field of practice transformation with 30 years of experience as a as a healthcare leader and as a practicing family physician. His leadership experience spans both community-based and hospital system healthcare, with roles over the past 13 years as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and CEO of an independent and high-performing clinically integrated network in Colorado and as CMO of a community hospital in north metro Denver. Within the industry, he is known for his expertise in health information technology, patient centered medical homes (PCMH), accountable care and healthcare transformation.

HealthTeamWorks is excited to be able to apply Ehrenberger’s areas of interest including the use of a community-wide electronic health record and clinical data analytics to promote value-based population healthcare, the advancement of health information exchanges, and physician leadership around sustainable, team-based systems of primary and specialty care.

Ehrenberger is not a new face to HealthTeamWorks. He has served on the Board of Directors for nine years. His commitment has demonstrated a deep understanding and shared passion for our work advancing system change and improvement in healthcare value. He played a key role on behalf of HealthTeamWorks in Colorado’s Multi-Payer Multi-Stakeholder PMCH Pilot as a member of the Physician Advisory Committee. Dr. Ehrenberger now steps down as President and Board Chair to accept this role.

Ehrenberger is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley, the Tufts University School of Medicine and the UCLA Family Medicine Residency in Santa Monica.  He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, a member of the National Committee for Quality Assurance PCMH/ACO Recognition Program Review Oversight Committee and a member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Steering Committee for Practice Improvement.
