Josie Rodriguez has worked in various positions throughout her career with the goal of serving her community, reducing health disparities, advancing health equity, and providing enhanced health and human services to diverse populations in Nebraska. In her roles, Josie has worked with state government agencies, non-profit organizations, community-based organizations, and other partners to increase the awareness of services and enhance programs and services for the community.

Josie most recently served as the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for OneWorld Community Health Centers Inc. where she led efforts to enhance a more inclusive work culture. She also worked for the State of Nebraska for 30 years working in the DHHS Office of Health Disparities and Health Equity Division of Public Health, Medicaid, Children and Families Services, and the Office of the Nebraska Attorney General. Throughout her roles, Josie has continuously worked to build and enhance collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, community leaders and community-based organizations to identify and to address the social and other factors that influence health and well-being. Her past roles have included work in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion leadership, administration of state office, team guidance and leadership, community engagement, health disparities, health equity, social determinants of health, program planning and management, evidence-based programming, program evaluation, policy development, Medicaid, social services, and consumer protection.

Josie serves on various boards including the City of Lincoln Nebraska Woman and Gender Commission, the UNMC Great Plains IDeA CTR Community Advisory Board and the Heartland Region VII Health Equity Council, and other groups that work to bring awareness of community issues and needs and focus on topics of access, social determinants of health, health disparities, and health equity.

Josie holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Service Administration and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Bellevue University.
