Ms. Elhoms is a nationally known speaker and educator with credentials from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). She has expertise in both inpatient and outpatient coding, compliance, billing, and reimbursement. She has worked with RT Welter & Associates for over 5 years and serves as the Director of Coding/Compliance Consulting Services. She leads and mentors a network of coders across the US.
Ms. Elhoms works with all specialties and provider types. She conducts educational seminars on various topics including (but not limited to): Evaluation/Management Coding, Revenue Cycle Management, Revenue Maximization, Compliance, ICD-10, Surgical Specialty Coding, etc.
She has also developed and designed instructor-led and web-based trainings as it pertains to coding/billing/compliance. Recently, she successfully led over 300 practices through the ICD-10 transition. She considers herself to be a provider advocate in this ever-changing healthcare landscape. In her presentations, Ms. Elhoms focuses on the importance of thorough clinical documentation as well as compliance with correct coding/billing practices while understanding the impact this has on provider productivity and patient care. As an educator, she takes a very hands-on approach with her trainings. She has considerable expertise in Spine Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Urology, Cardiology, Oncology/Hematology, Family Practice, Pediatrics, Nephrology, and Pain Management. She has also worked with hundreds of Title X/Public Health agencies and School Based Health Centers across the country.
