Dennis Phillips

Dennis J. Phillips is a senior health care system executive with over 40 years’ experience in the industry. He most recently was the Executive Vice President of Carolinas HealthCare System’s (CHS) Metro Group in Charlotte, NC. This group consisted of 12 hospitals, 4 rehabilitation centers and the Continue Care Division representing more 2,750 licensed beds and 17,800 employees. During his tenure at CHS he led initiatives that increased operating income from $176 million to $933 million, increased ED visits from 568,000 to 770,000 and implemented time, attendance and productivity systems that resulted in annual savings of $150 million in salary expense. Dennis’ areas of expertise include: patient experience, productivity management, physician relationships, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and employee engagement.
